Resources & Recommendations
Check out some of our favorites: Brands, Courses, Clubs, etc. These are all personal opinion, everyone’s different!
Basic Equipment
Golf clubs and a glove… I would say those are the basics for heading to the range! (And some range rent clubs, just call to check with them first).
The best place I recommend for purchasing golf clubs? Online secondhand marketplaces such as Offer Up, Facebook Marketplace, etc. Of course you’ll want to use the utmost caution (always meet at a safe, well lit, public place) when purchasing from strangers, but this is a great way to get a starter set of women’s golf clubs for $100-150.
To start you’ll need a driver, a couple irons (at least a 7 and 9), a wedge (either sand or pitching), and a putter. Most Par 3 courses can be played with this combo and you can use these clubs at the driving range and/or during a lesson or clinic.
Driving Range
Most public golf courses have a driving range you can go to in order to work on your swing. Call the pro shop of your local course to ask about hours of operations and the cost for a bucket of balls.
Our favorite option is a stand-alone range in Anaheim near the Honda Center.
The Island Golf Center has a very casual vibe and over 80 stalls. They play music, conversation is okay while playing, and there are great lights well into the night.
